# Move from a claimed listing to DonorCARE

> What changes on your directory listing when your organization starts using DonorCARE for donations.

**Who can do this:** The account that completed the claim can start the sign-up. After that, an Owner or Admin manages the listing in the DonorCARE admin.

Claiming a listing is free and stays free. If you later use DonorCARE to take donations, your listing links to your new organization account, its badge changes, and donors get a **Donate Now** button.

## Before you start

- Claim the listing first if you want to keep control of it. See [Claim your organization's listing](https://donorcare.my/help/donors/claim-our-listing/).
- Correct your **Registration number** first, so your listing can be recognized when you sign up. See [Correct your registration details](https://donorcare.my/help/organizations/account/correct-your-registration-details/).

## Steps

1. **Start from your listing editor.** At `donorcare.my/my-listings`, find the box **Take donations online** ("Your listing is free and can stay that way. When you are ready, DonorCARE runs your donation page, payments and receipts."). Select **Start free trial**. It opens the DonorCARE sign-up in a new tab, with your listing's name, registration number and contact details filled in, so you don't retype them. If that fails, the plain sign-up page opens.

2. **Create your organization account.** Complete the sign-up. When the organization is created, DonorCARE looks for your existing listing and links it to the new account.

3. **Check the listing.** Once your organization is linked:
   - The badge on the public page changes from **Claimed** to **Runs on DonorCARE**, once the organization is live on a paid plan. A linked organization that is still not live, or on the free plan, stays **Claimed**.
   - A **Donate Now** button appears on the listing, and it leads to your DonorCARE donation page.
   - In the DonorCARE admin, **Organization → Directory Listing** now appears in the sidebar, and its badge reads **Runs on DonorCARE**. This is where your team edits the listing from now on. See [Your directory listing](https://donorcare.my/help/organizations/account/your-directory-listing/).

## What stays the same

- Everything you entered stays on the listing.

## When it doesn't link

If the listing was claimed by an account that is not a member of your new organization, DonorCARE does not link them. The listing keeps its **Claimed** badge. Sign up with the account that claimed it, or email support@donorcare.my.

If no listing matches at all, DonorCARE creates a new listing for your organization.

## If something goes wrong
