# Set donation amounts

> Preset amounts and minimum and maximum gifts for a campaign.

**Who can do this:** Owner, Admin, Finance, Member, Viewer

Amounts are set per donation item, on the campaign's Donation Programs tab — choose a fixed set of options, or a flexible range with its own minimum and maximum.

## Before you start

- You need at least one donation item to set amounts on. See [Add sponsorship items](https://donorcare.my/help/organizations/campaigns/add-campaign-items/) if the campaign doesn't have one yet.

## Steps

1. **Open the campaign's Donation Programs tab and select an item.** In DonorCARE, open the campaign, select the Items tab, then select the item you want to price.

2. **Choose fixed amounts, or a flexible range.** Turn on **Use fixed donation amount** and enter one figure, or several separated by commas (for example `50.00, 100.00, 250.00`) — donors then pick from those preset amounts. Leave it off to collect a **Min Amount** (required) and an optional **Max Amount**; donors can enter anything in between. Leaving Max Amount blank means no upper limit.

3. **Save the item.** DonorCARE enforces a minimum of RM 10 on every item regardless of what you enter, and rejects a maximum that isn't higher than the minimum.

## If something goes wrong

| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Minimum donation amount must be at least 10" | The Min Amount you entered is below DonorCARE's floor | Enter RM 10 or more |
| "Maximum amount must be greater than minimum amount" | The Max Amount is equal to or lower than the Min Amount | Raise the maximum, or clear it for no limit |
| A donor's amount is rejected above what you set here | Your organization has its own minimum donation amount set for every campaign (Finance > Payment Limits) — whichever minimum is **higher** wins | Check your organization-wide minimum in [Set donation controls](https://donorcare.my/help/organizations/finance/set-donation-controls/) if this item's own minimum looks too low to matter |
| Pricing fields are grayed out | The item already has donations against it — pricing and item type lock to protect existing records | Create a new item instead of editing this one |
