# Read a donor profile

> What the header and each of the four tabs on a donor's profile page tell you, and how to read them.

**Who can see this:** Owner, Admin, Finance, Member, Viewer

A donor's profile page is one record split into four tabs, plus a header that never changes — knowing what each part is telling you is the difference between a quick check and a wrong assumption.

## Why it works this way

Everything about a donor — their giving, their family, their tax profile, their history with your organization — lives on one page so you never have to piece a person together from several screens. The tabs exist so a screen full of giving charts doesn't bury the one contact detail you actually came for.

## The terms

**Header and KPI strip** — always visible above the tabs: Total Donated, Donations, Average Gift, Campaigns and Last Gift. In the header you may also see a tier badge (the tier's name followed by "tier", from your organization's own recognition ladder) and a **Recurring** badge when the donor has an active recurring gift. This is the quick read before you open a tab.

**Possible Duplicates panel** — appears above the tabs only when DonorCARE finds another donor record in your organization sharing this one's phone, email, identity number, or name. It's your entry point into merging — see [Merge duplicate donors](https://donorcare.my/help/organizations/donors/merge-duplicate-donors/).

## What this means in practice

**Overview** tells you who this donor is and what you know about them. The **Engagement Timeline** card shows Member Since, First Donation and Last Donation. **Donor Intelligence** shows Lifetime Value, Avg Gift Size, Campaign Breadth and Gift Consistency, and under them the donor's stored score: the **Engagement score** out of 100 (with its trend), how confident the score is, the six things it is built from (Recency, Monetary, Momentum, Frequency, Tenure and Diversity, each out of 100), the **Churn risk** with the reason behind it, and whether a **Recurring gift** is active. Scores are calculated on a schedule once a donor has a completed gift, so a new donor shows "Not scored yet". These are the same Score and Risk figures used on the donor list — see [How we measure donor behavior](https://donorcare.my/help/organizations/donors/how-we-measure-donor-behavior/). Below those, **Contact Details**, the tax and identification profile if your plan includes MyInvois, the **Segments** (audiences) the donor belongs to, their tags, and any notes your team has added.

**Giving** shows this donor's lifetime value over time: total donated, donation count, average gift, a predicted annual figure once enough history exists, and a month-by-month trend chart. Under the chart, a **Gifts** list shows every gift this donor has made to your organization, newest first, with its Date, Campaign, Amount, Status and a link to the gift or its receipt (**Receipt PDF** where one exists). Gifts made in test mode or to a sample campaign are listed but badged **Test** or **Sample**. Use it to see whether a donor's giving is growing, flat, or shrinking, and roughly how often they give.

**Family** lists the living and deceased family members recorded against this donor — mostly filled in automatically from ritual or memorial donation entries, but you can add names by hand here too. Use it when preparing a tablet or ceremony that needs a full household or lineage.

**Activity** is a timeline of everything that has happened on this record, newest first: donations, emails sent, notes added, tax profile changes, receipts issued and recognition milestones, plus **Recurring gift started** and **Recurring gift lapsed**, **Form requested** and **Form submitted**, **Automation ran** and **Automation email sent**, **Receipt requested**, **e-Invoice**, and **Donor records merged** (which shows only counts of what moved). A gift that was keyed in on a different day from the day it was given shows "Entered" with the date it was recorded. The timeline loads 20 entries at a time; select **Load more** until it stops appearing to reach the start of the history. Use it as your first stop when a donor calls asking "did you get my last gift" or "why haven't I heard from you."

**Do**

- Check the Activity tab before telling a donor their gift wasn't received — it often already has the answer.

**Don't**

- Treat a low-confidence score as settled. When the profile says "Low confidence", the score rests on very few giving days and is only a rough guide.
