The ladder

1. Bronze — Identity publishedWho the organisation is, how it exists in law, who answers for it, and how to give.
2. Silver — Work publishedWhat it does, for whom, what it achieved, and how it spent last year's money.
3. Gold — Accounts publishedIts financial statements, its governing body and its governance policies.
4. Platinum — Results publishedIts goals, results tracked over two years, how its board is chosen, pay and reserves.
5. Verified by DonorCARE — Checked against sourceDonorCARE has checked all of it against the original sources.

Bronze to Platinum are what an organisation tells you. Verified by DonorCARE is what we checked.

Our promises

• The seal is free at every level. It is never sold, bundled or hurried.
• Being a DonorCARE customer never grants a seal, shortens a review or changes a check.
• Reviewers are separate from sales, and nobody's pay depends on an outcome.
• Every seal links to a live page showing what was checked and when.
• Each year we publish how many seals were granted, refused, suspended and withdrawn, for customers and non-customers separately.

What a seal does not mean

• It is not a government, ROS, SSM or LHDN approval.
• It is not a licence to collect money.
• It is not a rating of impact or of how well funds are spent.
• Tax deductibility is shown separately, and only when it is true.

How the directory orders results

The default order weighs an organisation's seal level, and whether it runs on DonorCARE (its listing is linked to a DonorCARE account on a paid plan). You can also sort by seal level alone.
