Claim your organization's listing
For staff of an organization listed in the directory: how to take control of the entry.
If your organization appears in the DonorCARE directory but nobody from your team manages it yet, claiming it is free and takes one email. If you use the right address, the listing is handed to you as soon as you open the link.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Use an email address you can open, ideally one on your organization’s own domain (for example
you@your-organization.example) or the exact contact email already shown on the listing. A Gmail or Yahoo address also works, but the claim is checked by a person before you get access. - You need to be authorized to represent the organization. The form asks you to confirm this.
- The listing must still be Unclaimed. A claimed listing, or one whose organization already runs on DonorCARE, can’t be claimed again.
-
On your organization’s directory listing, select Claim this listing. The claim page, Take control of your listing, explains what you get: you can edit your own details, a Claimed badge replaces Unclaimed, you get a small badge you can put on your own website, and you can start accepting donations later if you want to.
-
Fill in the form under Claim this listing.
- Organization email (required).
- Your role at the organization (optional), for example Treasurer or Person in charge.
- Registration number (optional). Your ROS/SSM number helps the claim get checked faster. It does not by itself grant access.
- What brings you here? and Tell us about your organization (optional). These only decide which emails you receive afterwards. They do not affect your claim.
- Tick I am authorized to represent this organization, and the information I have given here is true.
-
Select Send verification link. You see “Verification email sent”. Check your inbox for the verification link. It expires in 24 hours.
-
Open the link in the email. If you aren’t signed in, the page says Sign in to complete claim. Select Sign in and use the same email address that received the link. You use the same sign-in as donors; see Create a donor account.
-
See the result. It depends on the address you used.
- An address on your organization’s own domain, or the exact contact email already on the listing: the page says Listing claimed. Select Edit your listing to open the editor at
donorcare.my/my-listings. - Any other address: the page says Claim received — under review. We email you once it is approved. Until then, nothing on the listing changes.
- An address on your organization’s own domain, or the exact contact email already on the listing: the page says Listing claimed. Select Edit your listing to open the editor at
What changes after you claim
Section titled “What changes after you claim”- The badge on your listing changes from Unclaimed to Claimed.
- You can edit the listing yourself, with no reviewer involved for most fields. See Edit your claimed listing.
- If your organization is a DonorCARE customer, the next step is different. See Your directory listing.
